Musician Killed in Shooting at Concert in Recife

A famous Brazilian singer was killed while trying to break up a fight between a couple during a performance. The incident took place in Recife on August 13. Sergio Murilo Goncalves Filho, popularly known as MC Serginho Porradao, was 29 years old. He was a famous Braga funk musician spreading his musical vibes with his performances. He was reportedly attending a Father’s Day event when the incident happened. The incident involved an off-duty police officer and his girlfriend, who were fighting. MC Serginho Porradao was trying to break up the fight when a shooter fired at him and hit him in the head, leading to his death. The woman was also hit by a projectile and died at the scene.

The shooter allegedly fled after the incident and has not been arrested yet. The police are investigating the matter. The singer’s family and friends are devastated after this shocking incident. “He was a wonderful person, and he gave good vibes wherever he went,” said his friend Oziel Ferreira. “He will be missed.” The 29-year-old singer was a well-known performer in Brazil and had performed at many concerts nationwide. He was famous for his unique style of music and had a substantial following on social media. His final performance on YouTube was recorded last month. The video titled “MC Daleste live at the festival” was liked by more than 200,000 people.

He was also an entrepreneur and ran a dance school in Recife. He was also the founder of a music company called GDA Music and had several hit albums to his name.

In May, he released his latest album titled “Red.” The album was an instant hit and received positive reviews from critics. Besides this, the singer has also composed and performed songs for various TV shows and movies. He was a talented performer and could play both Western and Brazilian instruments.

Despite equality in law, discrimination against domestic workers continues in Brazil. It has been made even worse during the coronavirus pandemic as the first victim of COVID-19 was a diabetic domestic worker. The 63-year-old woman was diagnosed with the disease after working for her employer, a wealthy businesswoman who had gone on holiday to Italy in March.

The woman was unaware that her housekeeper had caught the disease from her and didn’t inform her about it. Earlier, a 63-year-old female teacher was killed by an attacker in Saquarema in northeast Brazil.

The incident came just days after a firefighter in Israel succumbed to injuries he suffered while trying to rescue a man trapped inside an eight-meter pit. He had a multi-system injury, including respiratory and brain damage. The Galilee Medical Center announced that the firefighter, Dekel Marciano, had died on Sunday. He was the second firefighter to die in a three-day rescue operation. His colleague, Amir Shteinfeld, died on Friday.
