Signs it’s Time for a New Residential HVAC System

Although replacing a heating and cooling system is efficient, many homeowners find it difficult to decide the favorable time to replace these systems. In most cases, you’ll find investing in a new energy-efficient system will save you money in the long run.

With a new heating and cooling systemin place, you’ll neither experience unexpected repair nor increased utility cost. So, if you are having a difficult time to consider the right time to replace your system then below are some clear indications that point it’s time for a new residential HVAC system.

Loud or Unusual Noises

Of course, it’s obvious a heating and cooling unit should make low-level sounds when they start up shut down. However, if you hear uncommon noises like loud bangs, grinding and grating, then there are high chances your HVAC system is not well. The heating and cooling system may possibly have a loose part if it releases a buzzing or rattling sound.

No matter the noise that is released, if it’s uncommon then your system requires total attention. Whenever you hear unnecessary sounds, you should call in an expert technician to give your unit an evaluation to determine the extent of the repair required.

Leaks

Yes, you can expect minor condensation around your cooling system but heavy drainage or leaks are clear signals of an issue with your HVAC system. A drainage tube is the element of a residential HVAC system that draws condensation away from your cooling system and outside of your home. If the condensation drain is clogged, then your system’s condensation drip pan will obviously overflow which may in turn cause water damage to ceilings or walls.

Furthermore, a leak might also be a clear indicator that your residential HVACunit has an issue with its refrigerant. Keep in mind these are chemicals used to ensure your system does not overheat and also maintains a cool air in your home. If your system’s refrigerant is leaking then it’s very evident the unit will not have sufficient coolant and you definitely need a replacement.
