Edward Rainey Renwick is one of the most notable names when talking about TV political analysts whose insights helped transform the shape of politics and political coverage for decades in New Orleans. During his career path, Ed Renwick served different roles including veteran local pollster, professor and former WWL-TV political analyst.

At the Loyola University New Orleans, he served as an associate professor of political science and director of the Loyola University Institute of Politics. Most people know him as a political analyst who correctly predicted the outcome of major races. This was using vote returns that were initially called in by workers deployed to sample precincts. Actually, his election analysis was highly regarded by political watchers statewide.

Just as is the case with any other respected pollster, Edward R Renwick was highly sought after for his insights. Edward Renwick earned his degrees at the University of Arizona. However, this was not his intended career path since he was looking forward to becoming an urban planner, but fate had other things planned for him. At Loyola, he was able to work alongside Chubbuck, the institute’s founding director of Politics. It was not until he left to work in Washington that Edward Renwick took over the polling business.
