Trishneet Arora: From School Dropout to Cybersecurity Billionaire

The Unconventional Journey of a Tech Visionary

In an era where traditional educational pathways are often viewed as prerequisites for success, Trishneet Arora’s story stands as a powerful testament to the potential of unconventional routes. The founder and CEO of TAC Security, Arora has built a cybersecurity and risk & vulnerability management company that now serves over 500 clients across 50 countries, including the US, Canada, UK, Europe, Israel, Australia, and India.

From Dropout to Entrepreneur

Arora’s entrepreneurial journey began remarkably early—he was just 19 when he launched TAC Security Solutions. What makes his story even more compelling is that he achieved this after making the bold decision to drop out of school. According to his story shared by Humans of Bombay, his parents supported his decision to drop out and follow his passion, with Arora noting that “my learning grew three fold!”

This unconventional start didn’t hinder his ambitions. Instead, it accelerated his learning and allowed him to focus entirely on building his expertise in cybersecurity and ethical hacking.

Building a Cybersecurity Empire

TAC Security has grown from a startup founded by a teenager into a publicly listed company. The company went public through an SME IPO worth ₹28.49 crore in March 2024, listing on the NSE SME platform on April 5, 2024. The IPO was offered at ₹106.00 per share and listed at ₹290.00, delivering an impressive listing gain of 173.58%.

TAC Security specializes in cybersecurity and risk & vulnerability management, positioning itself as a leader in helping organizations identify and mitigate security threats. The company has established a strong global presence with 4 offices in India and 1 in Dubai, serving high-profile clients including Reliance and other major corporations.

Recognition and Wealth Creation

Arora’s success has not gone unnoticed in the business world. In 2024, he was recognized as the 6th youngest Indian billionaire on the Hurun Rich List, with a net worth of $130 million (Rs 1,100 crore). This achievement is particularly remarkable considering his humble beginnings as a school dropout.

Beyond financial success, Arora has received recognition for his leadership abilities. He has won the Great People Managers Award for three consecutive times, being listed among the “Top 100 Great People Managers”.

Thought Leadership and Advocacy

Arora is not just an entrepreneur but also an author, having written several books based on cybersecurity, ethical hacking, and web defense. His expertise extends beyond running his company to educating others about cybersecurity threats and solutions.

Recently, Arora has been advocating for enhanced cybersecurity measures, urging the Indian government to prioritize cybersecurity in the Union Budget and take actionable steps to enhance the country’s cybersecurity framework.

The Vision Forward

TAC Security is ambitiously aiming for a nearly ten-fold increase in revenues by FY26 through organic growth and inorganic expansion. This aggressive growth strategy reflects Arora’s confidence in the cybersecurity market’s potential and his company’s ability to capture a larger share of it.

The company’s public listing has provided it with additional capital to fuel this expansion, positioning TAC Security to become one of the few major listed cybersecurity companies in India.

Lessons from an Unconventional Success Story

Trishneet Arora’s journey offers several key insights:

Passion Over Convention: His decision to leave traditional education to pursue his passion for cybersecurity demonstrates that success doesn’t always follow conventional paths.

Early Start Advantage: Beginning his entrepreneurial journey at 19 gave him years of experience and learning that traditional career paths might not have provided.

Global Vision: From the start, Arora built TAC Security with a global perspective, which has been crucial to the company’s international success.

Continuous Learning: Despite leaving formal education, he has remained committed to learning and sharing knowledge through his books and thought leadership.

Leadership Focus: His repeated recognition as a great people manager shows that technical expertise must be coupled with strong leadership skills for lasting success.

The Future of Cybersecurity Leadership

As cyber threats continue to evolve and become more sophisticated, leaders like Trishneet Arora become increasingly valuable. His combination of technical expertise, entrepreneurial acumen, and leadership skills positions him well to guide TAC Security through the rapidly changing cybersecurity landscape.

At just 29 years old, Arora has already achieved what many consider a lifetime’s worth of success. Yet, given his ambitious growth targets and the expanding cybersecurity market, his story appears to be just beginning. His journey from a school dropout to a billionaire CEO serves as an inspiration to young entrepreneurs worldwide, proving that with passion, determination, and the right timing, unconventional paths can lead to extraordinary success.
