Oscar-Winning Music Composer Hans Zimmer Proposes to His Girlfriend During Live Concert

If you are into music that can give you goosebumps, then you must be aware of composer Hans Zimmer. The German producer has won two Oscars and is known worldwide for his talent. And now, the musician is all set to tie the knot. The 65-year-old proposed to his girlfriend, Dina De Luca, during Thursday’s live concert at London’s O2 Arena. The moment has gone viral online.

As the concert drew close, Zimmer called on his lover to join him on stage. He addressed her as the ‘love of his life’ and can be heard asking her, “Will you marry me?” The audience erupted in applause, and the couple embraced on stage.

On the tail end of a European concert tour backed by a full orchestra, Zimmer performed one last track before proposing to his long-time partner. He played Time, a cherished masterpiece from the soundtrack of Christopher Nolan’s blockbuster Inception. The tune was a perfect choice as it resonated with the crowd and encapsulated the emotional moment.

The music maestro paused midway through the song to compose his heartfelt proposal. Then, he resumed playing the mesmerizing melody, and the crowd was in awe of his romantic gesture.

A video of the heartwarming scene went viral on social media platforms, courtesy of popular content creator Jimmy ‘MrBeast’ Wong and his channel. The video has received over 11 million views and 1.2 million likes on YouTube in less than 12 hours of its upload.

According to reports, the musician was moved by Alex’s gesture and decided to pay tribute to her at his London show earlier this month. During his performance, he showed the footage of Alex in a bomb shelter and talked about her “simple, overwhelming one-minute passion against fear, against war.”

Zimmer also took the opportunity to dedicate a track to the Ukrainian pianist, who was caught on camera refusing to flee the bomb warning in Lviv, Ukraine. He played a segment of the Inception theme song on the piano, accompanied by his friend, who added the lyrics, “When I feel the fear, I will hold on to your hand.” Millions have seen the clip of people. According to a rep for the two-time Academy Award winner, he has also spoken to Alex via a video call.
